To make your consultation most effective:

1. Bring previous test results – Doppler ultrasound, angiography, CT, or blood tests
2. Describe your symptoms – when they occur, and what worsens or relieves them
3. Prepare a list of medications, especially anticoagulants or blood pressure drugs
4. Wear comfortable clothing that allows examination of the legs
5. Prepare questions about possible treatment options – conservative, minimally invasive, or surgical

The visit begins with a medical interview (anamnesis) about your risk factors, symptoms, and family history.

A physical examination follows, including inspection and palpation of the limbs.
If needed, a Doppler ultrasound is performed to assess blood flow in the arteries and veins.

The vascular surgeon may order additional imaging such as angiography, CT angiography, or MRI angiography.

Finally, you will discuss the results and receive an individualized treatment plan, ranging from lifestyle modifications and medication to minimally invasive procedures or vascular surgery.
