   Note when they occur and whether they change with activity or rest.
4. Follow testing instructions
   • Do not stop medications unless your doctor instructs you to.
   • Continue your usual therapy unless advised otherwise.
5. Prepare your questions
   Ask about diagnosis, treatment options, risks, and prevention.
6. Bring a companion if needed for support.

The visit typically begins with a detailed discussion of symptoms — chest pain, shortness of breath, palpitations, fatigue, dizziness — along with personal and family medical history and lifestyle factors.

A physical examination follows:

• Measurement of blood pressure and pulse
• Cardiac auscultation with a stethoscope
• Inspection for edema and other physical signs

An electrocardiogram (ECG) is routinely performed, and if necessary, additional tests such as echocardiography, Holter monitoring, or laboratory tests may be ordered.

Finally, the cardiologist reviews the results and develops a personalized treatment plan, preventive strategy, and follow-up recommendations.
